The Polish Institute Brussels is seeking an experienced communication officer starting in January 2020.

Who we are:

The Polish Institute, Cultural Service of the Polish Embassy in Belgium is supervised in its work by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

Our key goal is to familiarise people in Belgium with the history, language and culture of Poland, as well as use Belgium as a platform on which to unveil the latest Polish intellectual and artistic news and events. We work towards making sure that Polish culture forms part of the Belgian landscape, and, in order to make this happen, we collaborate with Belgian institutions, NGOs as well as with various festivals.

Job description:

  • Produce content for the website and social media channels, including videos and other visual elements
  • Assist in curating the visual image of the Polish Institute in Brussels
  • Be responsible for sub-editing and layout of the event description and information of the Polish Institute
  • Update website content
  • Edit and develop content for the Polish Institute’s newsletters
  • Monitor and analyse the Polish Institute online outreach
  • Manage press releases, public relations and printed materials related to the Polish Institute’s activities

What we expect from you:

  • Excellent command of written and oral English and French or Dutch is a must, Polish language skill (B2) is an asset
  • A real interest in the cultural sector
  • A proven experience in event organisation and communication
  • Creative
  • Command of communication software is an asset
  • A good team player but also able to work independently
